I had never thought of myself as a tech person but I have started to notice of late a gaining interest in technology. Maybe it comes with age? I am getting closer to the big 3-0… or maybe it’s the fact that I’m still reading “Inside Steve’s Brain” a book on Steve Jobs, Co-Found of Apple.
I recently found an article on the Australian Property Council website about “The Planning Game” and using 3D visualization technology in the urban planning and design context. I found it very interesting in relation to where property development is moving towards in relation to design.
In the article, Ben Guy, managing director of 2D infrastructure visualization company Urban Circus has been quoted as saying “This is an exciting development and this is where the technology is going,” he says. “In future architects will be able to download the virtual precinct, build up their design within that virtual model and submit to tender. As we move forward in the next decade or two, 3D virtual environments will be used and shared across projects.”
It amazes me how quickly technology moves and the new things that’s popping up. Moving to the Cloud and away from paper seems to be the way of the future and it seems that property development is no exception.
